Fortaleza and Recife, Brazil

Study Texas had a successful mission to Brazil in September 2015 with 8 institutions in Texas. We had the chance to meet over 5 high schools during our visit and excited to start planning our next mission to Mexico! More news is to come, stay tuned.

Upcoming Mission to Brazil

This upcoming Fall, 8 universities will be visiting two 2nd-tier Brazilian cities, Recife and Fortaleza on September 17-22nd.  Brazil is the tenth leading place of origin for students coming to the United States. According to IIE’s Open Doors Report, more than 13,286 Brazilian students studied in the United States in 2013/14. These numbers are expected to increase, and Texas is best positioned to take part in this growth due to its location, cultural and linguistic links, and great diversity of quality educational programs.

Mission to Mexico

This November, Study Texas will take a statewide education mission to Mexico. Chair-Elect Dickie Hargrove will lead the mission with support from the U.S. Department of Commerce and EducationUSA. The mission will visit Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey to meet with local students and school advisors. Join the mission to showcase your school, make contact with prospective students and high school counselors, and make connections with other international education professionals.

NAFSA Annual Conference Study Texas Breakfast

Study Texas hosted the 2nd NAFSA Annual Conference Study Texas Breakfast for EducationUSA advisors, State Department officials, and Study Texas members on May 28, 2014, at Richard Walker’s Pancake House during the 2014 NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo, held in San Diego, California. This event provided the 38 EducationUSA advisors, USDOC education specialists, and REACS who attended the conference an opportunity to meet 22 members of Study Texas. Study Texas Chair, Anis Qourzal, gave a brief presentation to guests about Study Texas and why Texas is an ideal destination for international students who wish to study in the US.  Members of Study Texas had the opportunity to meet and mingle with attendees to share information about Study Texas, the State of Texas, and their respective institutions.
