International Student Barometer (ISB)

The ISB offers several benchmarks around the internationalization process at your institution. It helps to understand where an HE institution outperforms (or underperforms) on the learning, living and support areas, how students decide to come at study at your institution and what their expectations are regarding study outcomes and employability.

A case study is Atlantic Canada, who through Edunova have been running the ISB for several years now. The ISB has helped shape the attraction and retention of international talent to the region. For the Nova Scotia region international education is the second largest export sector and thus vital for the sustainability and growth of the province. With the use of the ISB stakeholders could better understand the issues that impact international students’ experiences on campus as well as the decision-making mechanisms.
